Household Hazardous & Electronic Waste
Household Hazardous & Electronic Waste
Residents
It is our responsibility as residents to properly dispose of household hazardous waste.

Litter, oil, chemicals, and other substances that are washed away from yards end up in storm drains.  Water in the storm drain is not treated the same way sanitary sewers are treated.  Therefore, once debris enters the storm drain, it contaminates the creeks, rivers, bays, and eventually the ocean.

Many household products used daily are considered hazardous waste and must be disposed of through proper channels.  Some common household hazardous waste includes but is not limited to batteries, paint, adhesives, drain openers, automotive products, grease and rust solvents, fluorescent lamps, mercury, televisions, computer monitors, and pool chemicals.  Periodic household hazardous waste drop off events are held throughout the year by Los Angeles County.  Flyers announcing these events are sent out to residents every few months. Click on the following links for upcoming events.
